Frans Floris, Frans Floris the Elder or Frans Floris de Vriendt was a Flemish artist, draughtsman, print painter and tapestry designer. He is primarily known for his history artworks, allegorical scenes and portraits. He played an important function in the movement in Northern Renaissance painting referred to as Romanism.
